Clinical Supervision

(available summer/autumn 2026)

Supervision is an integral part of the work that we do as therapists; it has a deep significance and a complex role in mediating the creative and subjective areas of our work with the clinical requirements and accountability inherent in the services we provide to our clients and employers.

I provide a reflective space in which we can reflect on the intellectual, imaginative and professional development of the supervisee’s work. Within this space, the heart of the therapeutic process is explored in order to gain insights and learning which can be linked to the therapist/client relationship by exploring transference/countertransference.

I am a qualified adult education teacher and have supported individuals through accredited programmes for over a decade. In addition to my clinical training as an HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist, in 2026 - 2027, I will undertake a year-long course with the British Psychotherapy Foundation to gain a thorough understanding of supervision and reflective practice, where I will cover the following:

  • The boundaries and setting of supervision

  • The process of supervision

  • Helping the supervisee work with ethical issues and dilemmas

  • The effects of difference and race in supervision

  • Helping the supervisee work with transference and countertransference

  • Helping the supervisee work with the impasse and breakdown of therapy

  • Helping the supervisee work with risk and suicide

  • Supervising time-limited work

  • Supervising remote access work
