mental health consultation

I can work within your organisation to understand an individual’s or group’s current difficulties and work collaboratively to determine the best support or treatment plan available. This can be particularly helpful for individuals on Education Health Care Plans or those living with neurodiversity who need support with requesting reasonable adjustments. A written report would be produced which outlines challenges, and recommendations for support or treatment.

INDIVIDUAL / GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY

I have over a decade of experience working with highly vulnerable groups, which include children, young people, and older adults. Typically, therapy is offered in small groups of 6-8 individuals; however, depending on your setting and the group’s needs, this may be extended to a larger group context, where the work is delivered alongside a co-facilitator.

staff reflective practice

Reflective Practice can be helpful in a wide range of healthcare, voluntary and educational settings, where there is a need for a team to actively and critically examine experiences, their thoughts and actions to gain new insights and improve professional practice. This can be helpful for teams facing systemic challenges or find themselves moving through a period of transition. I have experience delivering reflective practice groups within teams who are facing difficulties working with challenging behaviour or those with high levels of complex trauma.

Staff creative, mindfulness and wellbeing workshops

It would be possible to develop a tailored programme for your organisation to explore a range of skills development activities. This could include clay, sculpture, textiles, printmaking, bookbinding, sewing, painting, drawing and other craft-based activities. Instead of being a therapeutic activity, this would be offered to support a group’s capacity for mindfulness, relaxation and a focus on their wellbeing. This can be offered for a wide range of group sizes, and could also occur as training, or celebratory activity.

psychoeducation style workshops

Psychoeducation can be used to provide information about a mental or physical health condition. It aims to empower individuals and their wider network whilst helping to further understanding and support. It may involve collaboratively looking at diagnosis, symptoms, and treatments, looking primarily at how to develop coping skills. This would be suitable especially for carers who support individuals with long-term disability, illness, autism, learning disability, mental health difficulty, acquired brain injury, or degenerative brain disease. I would be able to develop a tailored programme depending on your needs. Typically, support would be offered in a small group format.

Oral history / Reminiscence Interventions / memory making

This can be particularly helpful for individuals who are being treated in end-of-life care. It can be particularly supportive for families suffering an expected loss or for individuals who need support to process an ending or loss. In the past, I have worked to create oral histories in intergenerational contexts, but also in museum contexts for research purposes to primarily engage with community groups.
